The Mission of Northland Family Help Center is to reduce the incidence of all forms of family and relationship violence and to promote the development of healthy families and individual in northern Arizona. We are committed to providing safe shelter, counseling, advocacy, community education and referral for individuals and families affected by violence and abuse.

Our History

In 1978, Northland Crisis Nursery opened its doors for the first time with five beds for children under the age of four. At the same time, Women's Resource Center became a non-profit organization. These two organizations are the roots of Northland Family Help Center

Through the 80s, each agency provided many services to northern Arizona. From Women's Resource Center's passion to end domestic violence to Northland Crisis Nursery developing the Time Out program, their strengths and ideas gave life to Northland Family.

In 1991, the two became one central organization...one strong, sheltering tree. It was together - with the help of Arizona citizens - that Northland Family was able to open H.A.L.O. House. It is as one central agency that our staff and board continue the passion and ideas to help families and individuals with relationship violence. From our Community Education Programs and P.E.A.C.E. Project to H.A.L.O. House and counseling services, Northland Family will continue its care and commitment to helping people live and love non-violently.
