Counseling Services
Overview
Our goal at Northland Family Help Center is to facilitate real, lasting change in the lives of our clients. We provide individual therapy to adults, teens, children, and families who have experienced trauma to support healthy development, a decrease or end of uncomfortable symptoms, and resolution of specific life problems.
Eligibility
Adults who have been victims of crimes such as current or historical abuse and/or neglect, domestic violence (including emotional, verbal, sexual, or physical abuse), sexual assault, or other assault, and who have not been convicted of a crime against a person are eligible for counseling services at Northland Family.
We also see children and families in crisis who are needing support with family dynamics, the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness, or domestic violence.
Professional Services
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, Northland Family's counseling staff members have training in a variety of approaches specifically for resolving traumatic stress symptoms such as hyper-vigilance, hyperactive startle responses, spaciness, depression and general anxiety symptoms, and repetitive dysfunctional relationships. These approaches include, but are not limited to: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing® (EMDR), Internal Family SystemsSM (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing® (SE).
